Job Introduction

We have an excellent opportunity available for Place Protection Officers to join our team here at Rushmoor Borough Council, on a full time, permanent basis with an annual salary from £33,699 to £39,862 plus a 10% weekend working allowance.

In this role, you will contribute to making Rushmoor a safer and nicer place to live, work and visit. You will investigate and resolve enviro-crimes, including fly-tipping, graffiti, abandoned vehicles, antisocial behaviour, homelessness related issues and parking contraventions. 

As a uniformed Place Protection Officer, your day will be spent mostly outside, in all weathers patrolling, engaging with the community, investigating and enforcing as appropriate. A flexible and pragmatic approach is required to meet the needs of the service, as no two days are the same. The team work on a rota basis comprising of 4 days on and 4 days off, usually during the hours of 8am – 7.35pm (however on occasions it may be necessary to work outside of these hours).

You will be the visible face of the council and therefore need to have excellent communication and people skills and be able to adapt to different situations by showing assertiveness where required, whilst remaining calm and diplomatic. The role requires strong partnership working with other teams within the council, Police, housing associations and other services.
